Las Ruinas Bathhouse & Gym

My husband and I visited Las Ruinas Bathhouse during our trip to San Juan, and it was truly one of our favorite experiences. From the moment we walked in, we felt a sense of calm. The space is absolutely stunning, with a perfect blend of history, beauty, and relaxation. We spent several hours enjoying the thermal circuit, moving between the sauna, steam room, thermal pool, and cold plunge. It was the perfect escape from the heat and the busy pace of sightseeing. Everything was impeccably clean, and the atmosphere was peaceful and inviting. What stood out most was how refreshed and recharged we felt afterward. It wasn’t just a spa visit—it felt like a complete reset for both body and mind. If you’re visiting San Juan and looking for a unique, relaxing experience, I can’t recommend Las Ruinas enough. It will always be added to our itinerary for all future trips.

This space is a gem in the heart of Old San Juan. I was lucky to go soon after the steam room opened, which is the perfect amount of steam while still being able to see the elegant interior. All the equipment is new but the energy is old. The architecture is truly unique and well preserved. The salt water pool is a perfect temperature but if you want a thermal bath or a cold plunge they are divine. It was nice to see various body types and backgrounds visiting the space. It has an affordable day pass, a delicious smoothie area, and a nice touch with free ice pops for a hot day. Worth noting that everything requires stairs to access. Definitely worth a trip.

10 out of 10 experience! Loved the space and the friendliness of the staff. All of the pools and baths were clean and well maintained. We were the only 2 people there and had a wonderful and relaxing time. The smoothie bar is also delicious! Looking forward to going again and for the massages to be available.

I booked a reservation to spend some time here before heading to the airport. I loved every moment! The swimming pool, heated pool, and saunas were perfection. The cold plunge was freezing but fun to try! I checked out the gym and wished that I had sneakers with me because it had everything you could possibly need for an amazing workout. The amenities were great- snacks, water, towels, lockers, clean showers, and easy access to the smoothie stand! My favorite part is that it was not too crowded. I really hope they continue to restrict the number of people who are allowed inside to maintain a sense of quiet and relaxation!

Definitely recommend giving this place a visit for some relaxation in a unique atmosphere at a great price. We found this bathhouse tucked into Old San Juan on a rainy day during our vacation. It was so lovely we came a second day when the weather was still overcast and rainy, but the spa was beautiful and gave us the warmth we were seeking. All the staff are really attentive and regularly moving through the space to keep it tidy and clean. The smoothie bar was also fantastic when we wanted a tasty beverage during our visit. They have 3 different pools (1 hot tub, 1 pool, 1 cold plunge), two saunas (1 infrared, 1 standard), and a steam room. There is a nice tea room with a variety of hot teas, light snacks, and popsicles. Also, there are nice dressing/shower facilities with amenities to get ready after a day at the spa. While we didn't use them during our visit, they also have a beautiful gym with a large variety of nice equipment and massage. services.
